Pamela Denise Anderson was born July 1, 1967 to Barry, a furnace repairman and Carol, a waitress in Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada.
1967 was Canada's centennial year and Pamela happened to be the first baby born on that day and as a result, she earned the title 'The Centennial Baby'.
This led to Pamela being featured with her parents in a local newspaper article. Carol and Barry received as Pamela put it "some medals and some money" for having the first baby to be born on Canada's 100th Birthday. "That's where it all started", says Pamela.
Shortly after that, the Andersons moved to Comox, British Columbia. It was here, that Pamela landed her first 'modeling' job. One day as Pamela was at her local library, sat listening to story time with around one hundred other children, a photographer took a picture of her which captured the hearts of everyone who saw it.
The photograph was very quickly copyrighted and placed in every library across British Columbia.
Pamela's teenage years were not much different to those of any normal teenager, as a schoolgirl, she particularly excelled at pretty much every sport she participated in, including acrobatics and gymnastics.
Aside from sport, Pamela also had a keen interest in English, art, languages, music, philosophy, poetry and psychology.
In 1985 when she graduated from Highland Secondary School, she wrote in her yearbook entry that her ambition was "To be a California Beach Bum." As it happened, Pamela fulfilled her ambition, although not quite in the way that she had imagined.
In 1988, Pamela left her small town behind and moved to the big city - Vancouver. It was there, that she began working as a fitness instructor. But soon her life was to change forever in more ways than she could ever dream of.
Pamela was invited by some friends to attend a BC (British Columbia) Lions football game. One of her friends was a representative for Labatt's beer and so they had free hats, t-shirts and shorts to wear featuring the Labatt's logo. It was at this game, that a cameraman was looking for someone to project onto the stadium's big screen - and he spotted Pamela.
Suddenly Pamela's face, along with her Labatt's t-shirt was up on the stadium's big screen for all to see. The crowd went wild, with people calling in to ask who the unknown woman was.
It wasn't only the attention of the football fans that Pamela caught, she had also gained the attention of Labatt's Beer who noticed the fantastic response that this woman was getting from the crowd whilst wearing one of their t-shirts.
Pamela began to model for Labatt's for their then current promotion the 'Blue Zone', and Pamela became the 'Blue Zone Girl'. Suddenly posters of Pamela were plastered nationwide across Canada in bars and restaurants.
It wasn't long before Ken Honey, a Vancouver-based freelance photographer took some pictures of Pamela and convinced her to let him send them on her behalf, to Playboy magazine.
Initially Pamela declined the offer because she was too shy, but one day the phone rang at home whilst she was having a fight with her ex-fiancé and she spontaneously decided to accept the offer to pose for Playboy - but for a cover only.
Pamela sought her mother Carol's consent. Carol agreed to allow her daughter to pose for the Playboy cover. Following a meeting with Hugh Hefner, the family agreed to allow Pamela to pose for Playboy.
Pamela found herself living in Los Angeles. She went on to be the cover-girl of the October 1989 edition of Playboy and re-appeared in the February 1990 issue as Playboy's Playmate of the Month.
It wasn't long before Pamela became a firm favourite with Playboy readers and is now regarded as one of the most iconic cover-girls and Playmates associated with the magazine. Pamela Anderson is as synonymous with the word 'Playboy' as she is with the word 'Baywatch'.
To date, she has appeared on 14 Playboy covers, more than any other model in the magazine's history. Her 14th cover being the final nude issue in 2016.
Playboy paved the way to many more modeling assignments worldwide, with the best and most renowned photographers in the business.
It wasn't just modeling that came Pamela's way, it didn't take long for the producers of the American TV sitcom 'Home Improvement' to sit up and notice Pamela.
She was cast as Lisa the 'Tool Time' Girl in three seasons of the series and during her time there, posed for an accompanying Playboy shoot on Route 66 shot by Playboy photographer, Richard Fegley.
Pamela's star was shining bright, but her next big break was to be the one which catapulted her career into the stratosphere when she was cast as lifeguard Casey Jean (C.J.) Parker in the massively popular TV series, 'Baywatch'.
Initially the show wasn't such a big hit, but having been re-branded with a new cast of beautiful babes and guys, it was about to become one of the biggest shows on the planet - and Pamela one of it's biggest and most recognized stars.
Baywatch became the "most watched TV show in the world" with a weekly audience of 1.1 billion people in 148 different countries and was translated into 44 different languages. C.J. Parker was the most sexual, sensual blonde beauty on the beach and everybody wanted a piece of Pamela.
Pamela portrayed the role of C.J. Parker for five seasons of Baywatch, eventually hanging up her swimsuit once and for all in 1997. By this time, a bevy of new beauties had joined the Baywatch crew including Gena Lee Nolin, Traci Bingham, Carmen Electra, Angelica Bridges and Marliece Andrada.
All the women were beautiful, but it was Pamela who had that unique and captivating beauty that easily made her the irreplaceable star of the show, and somehow without C.J., the beaches were never the same again. Pamela Anderson and her signature red swimsuit had become globally iconic.
Away from the beach, Pamela had already begun to pursue other projects before she had even departed Baywatch. In 1996 she played the role of Dark Horse Comics' Super heroine, Barb Wire in the movie of the same title. She also featured in a lesser known straight-to-video flick titled 'Naked Souls'.
Whilst filming Barb Wire, Pamela was pregnant with her first child with Tommy Lee, Brandon Thomas, who was born on June 5, 1996. She featured in the music video for Tommy Lee's 'Welcome to Planet Boom' which was part of the film's soundtrack and promotional shots from that time, show a heavily pregnant Pamela. On December 29, 1997, Pamela gave birth to her second child with Tommy Lee, Dylan Jagger.
As we progressed into the late 90s and 00s, Pamela's popularity continued to soar, with her featuring in numerous popular magazines including FHM, Maxim, Playboy and many more besides, all over the world.
Pamela went on to portray Vallery Irons, the lead character in the TV series V.I.P. (Vallery Irons Protection), in which she played a glamourous bodyguard. The show lasted for five seasons.
In 2006, Pamela went on to star in Sacha Baron Cohen's mockumentary film 'Borat' in which she was the knowing victim of a potential kidnap attempt by the main character of the film, by way of putting a large sack over her whilst she was at a signing event.
Pamela played the role well and was in on the 'joke', however the security guards, bodyguards and store owner at the event were not in on the attempted kidnap plot and the situation was deemed to be real. Her then partner at the time, Kid Rock, split up with Pamela over her participation in the film.
One thing that Pamela hadn't tried yet, was pantomime. She landed the role of the genie in two productions of Aladdin, one in Liverpool starring alongside British TV personality, Les Dennis and another version of the show in London alongside Brian Blessed, Paul O'Grady, Ruby Wax and Anita Dobson.
Today, Pamela is a proud mother of two as Brandon and Dylan begin to venture out into the acting and modeling fields, following in their mother's footsteps.
In addition to that, she is the founder of 'The Pamela Anderson Foundation', as well as being an activist for animal rights, human rights, NDVH (The National Domestic Violence Hotline) and environmental issues.
She has been a lifelong animal rights advocate and has participated in numerous campaigns for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Pamela is also Chair of the board of directors of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as well as being an ardent supporter of Julian Assange and Wikileaks.

Pamela has also devoted her time to visiting occupants at a French migrant and refugee camp to distribute fruit, warm clothes and colouring books for the children as part of a visit which was organized by the animal rights organisation PETA.
Pamela has also collaborated with Ashoka Paris to create an elegant line of vegan handbags as well as designer Amélie Pichard to produce a line of vegan shoes. Pamela has also released her own line of glamorous but cruelty free vegan faux-fur coats and continues today to promote a healthy vegan lifestyle.
In December 2020, back home in Canada, Pamela married her bodyguard Dan Hayhurst in a very simple and beautiful ceremony during the coronavirus lockdown. "I am in love. I was married on the property I bought from my grandparents 25 years ago, this is where my parents were married and they are still together. I feel like I've come full circle", says Pamela. "I'm exactly where I need to be - in the arms of a man who truly loves me."
On January 26, 2021, Pamela quit all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. She left fans with the message:

On April 12, 2022, Pamela took to the Broadway stage making her debut as the femme fatale Roxie Hart in 'Chicago'. Pamela's performance proved to be a huge crowd puller, drawing fans from all over the world to the Ambassador Theatre in New York. Pamela was so popular and great in playing the part that she received a standing ovation from the audience on her first night. Pamela completed her eight week limited run in the Broadway production on June 5, 2022.
Following the dramatization of Pamela's relationship with Tommy Lee in a Hulu TV series entitled 'Pam and Tommy', Pamela will be putting forward her own Netflix documentary to set the record straight about the infamous days between her and Tommy Lee. As a fan, my personal opinion is that the TV series should never have been made. It's intrusive, distasteful and brings up a particularly difficult and painful period in Pamela's life. I won't watch it, I think it's garbage. The producers of the show reached out to Pamela and Tommy to be involved in the show, but neither responded or wanted anything to do with it, understandably. The show's producers also asked Pamela's long-time friend Courtney Love if they could feature a Rolling Stone magazine cover featuring her image in the series. She in no uncertain terms told them where to go.
